Tough1® Foal Mask (rhesus foal)

A small foal mask from the brand Tough1 suitable for foals the first days after birth. The mask can be used if it is suspected that it could possibly be a rhesus foal (Neonatal isoerythrolysis). In this case, it is possible that the mother produces antibodies against the blood of the foal. If this is the case, it is very important that the foal cannot drink colostrum from the mother. In this case, a small mask may be necessary to protect the foal.

The mask is made of nylon webbing in which a stiff mesh is stitched. This gives the mask firmness. The mask has no opening except for the mesh holes.

Please note : Check regularly that the mask is still in place and if necessary place a foal halter over the mask to prevent it from slipping off. Discuss with your vet whether it is necessary to use such a mask and how long you should use the mask.
