What information do you find in the fan?
Flowering: Information about what the flowering habit of this species looks like, and in which period the species flowers. This is useful when identifying a species and when you take into account the flowering arc of the trees in your meadow.
Light: Some trees prefer to grow quickly towards the light and therefore have a sunny spot (pioneer species), others prefer to grow in the shade of other trees (climax species). You can take this into account when choosing species for a sunny spot, or just a spot with a lot of shade.
Soil : The suitable soil type (clay, loam, sand) on which the tree can grow and more information about how moist, calcareous or nutrient-rich the soil should be to give the species an ideal spot.
Form: Can this species occur as a tree, shrub, hedge and/or wood edge? This is useful to know if you want a tree or shrub, or if you just want to plant a hedge in your pasture.
Biodiversity: Facts about whether this tree is valuable to pollinators (bees and butterflies) or to other species that rely on this species in their life cycle. Every tree is valuable to biodiversity, but if you want to give biodiversity a maximum boost, it is best to plant many different species. Each species provides food or habitat for specific species, so the more different trees, the more different species you can attract.
Health: Which vitamins, minerals or nutrients the species contains and for which ailments the species is (traditionally) used. Usually valid for both humans and horses.
