Field Paste is an antimicrobial paste that counteracts unpleasant hoof odor and thrush in horses that are mainly kept outside (pasture/paddock). Field Paste has a thick, paste-like consistency. It has an excellent hold and therefore remains in contact with the treated areas for longer, allowing the active ingredients to work better and for a longer period of time.
Use Field Paste
- Thrush
- Unpleasant hoof odor
- Shallow damage in the white line (for deeper grooves in the white line we recommend using Artimud or Hoof-Stuff)
- For strengthening the hoof
- For general improvement of the frog and hoof sole condition
Field Paste is formulated to remain in the collateral grooves, frog groove and sole for a long time and effectively prevent bacterial and fungal growth. At the same time, Field Paste helps prevent mud, feces, urine and other harmful substances from coming into direct contact with the hoof.
Package contents

- 1800 grams
Compound
- Green French Clay - An antibacterial clay that gives Field Paste the perfect consistency.
- Bioactive honey - Provides an antibacterial, antifungal (anti-fungal) and antiseptic effect and also ensures a good, sticky consistency so that the product stays in place extra well.
- Zinc Oxide - a powerful and non-harmful antibacterial powder
- Eucalyptus Oil - Due to its antifungal and antibacterial properties, this essential oil helps eliminate odor and improve and strengthen the condition of the sole.
- Zinc Sulfate - a powerful conditioning ingredient known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Zinc Sulfate is not only highly effective against invasive bacteria and fungi, but also helps strengthen the horny wall.
All ingredients in Field Paste have been added for their antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties or for their consistency, which ensures that Field Paste remains in place for a long time and is effective.
Usage
- Field Paste is easy to apply by hand, wear gloves.
- Field Paste works best when used on a dry and clean hoof. Apply field paste before the horse goes out into the (wet) pasture or paddock.
- Clean the hoof with a hoof pick and then apply the Field Paste to the hoof. Make sure that the collateral grooves and any other cracks are well and generously provided with Field Paste.
- Reapply Field Paste when the previous layer is no longer present or once the scent of the essential oils has diminished significantly.
Once the problems are under control, we recommend using Field Paste weekly as a preventative measure in the following circumstances to prevent new problems:
- Muddy meadow
- Humid weather conditions
- During a longer period of extremely dry weather
Horses in the stable
For stable horses we advise to apply Field Paste only thinly to prevent the stable bedding from sticking to the hoof. A good alternative for horses that are frequently stabled is Red Horse Sole Paint.
Mild hoof problems
For mild hoof problems we advise to use Sole Cleanse on a regular basis instead of Field Paste. If the hoof problems are under control with Field Paste, a structural treatment with Sole Cleanse can also be used for preventive maintenance. Sole Cleanse is easier and cheaper to use than Field Paste.
