GreenGuard Diet Insert plate soft

Handy diet insert for the GreenGuard grazing muzzle. The reduced openings further limit the intake. Handy for use with horses that are very sensitive to sugars. Or specifically in the spring during the extra risky periods when the grass contains a lot of sugars.

The insert plate is made of rubber-like material and is therefore softer for the teeth than the original bottom. The insert plate also protects the grazing mask, which makes it last longer. The Diet plate gives an estimated reduction of approximately 70-80% and is therefore strict.

Make sure your horse does not stand in the pasture with this insert plate for too long (maximum 8 hours) and ensure that the rest of the roughage supply is sufficient to ensure stomach and intestinal health. Make sure that your horse has also eaten hay before going to pasture. Eating hay with a GreenGuard grazing muzzle is very difficult and not sufficiently possible with a diet insert plate.

The latest models of GreenGuard grazing muzzles have recesses in the muzzle where the insert plate clicks into place. If you have an older grazing muzzle from before 2022, you can use the leather insert plate without the click system.

Important: Prevent tooth damage

We recommend using the grazing muzzle only in combination with a rubber or leather insert plate to protect the teeth. Nevertheless, continue to check the teeth regularly and have the dentist come for an annual check-up. In addition to an insert plate, the adjustment also has a major influence on the teeth. Therefore, read the adjustment instructions carefully.

If your horse eats with a lot of pressure on the ground and teeth, it is advisable to have the dentist come more often for a check-up.
