Merino Nose Fur for grazing mask

Soft merino fur for a grazing muzzle. This fur has several velcro straps so you can easily attach it to a grazing muzzle. No more chafing if your horse has to wear a grazing muzzle. It is a small adjustment but with a big effect on the comfort for your horse.

A fur is a nice and effective solution for chafing on the nose when wearing a grazing muzzle. But preferably use a fur as a preventive measure.

Merino fleece is extra soft due to the large number of hair follicles per square cm. This, in combination with the ideal length of the coat, provides good protection for the sensitive horse skin. Can be worn in both summer and winter.

Extra tip
Make sure your grazing muzzle has enough space to fit the fur in. The fur will make it a little smaller. In the case of chafing, a grazing muzzle that is too small is often the main cause. A fur will not be able to help sufficiently. Are you unsure about which size fits best? Then choose the larger size. Better something too large that you can easily absorb with a soft fur, than too small and from one chafing spot to the other.

Which fur do I choose for which grazing muzzle?

These furs are officially designed for the Best Friend® grazing muzzles, but can also be used very well with other brands. Sometimes a Velcro strap does not fit completely. But often you can make it fit well with a bit of creativity. You can also shorten the Velcro straps with scissors if necessary. Below you will find a table with the best fitting options for the different brands and sizes of grazing muzzles. Often a fur also fits on the chin side of the grazing muzzle, but sometimes the fur will no longer fall symmetrically. You can then cut the fur to the desired size if necessary.

Cleaning and maintenance
Washable in cold water with a little and mild detergent (preferably special detergent for wool or sheepskin), rinse well and let air dry. Do not dry in the sun or on a heating source. With the help of a brush or vacuum cleaner, the coat becomes soft and fluffy again.
